Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the emergency department
- Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments and initiate appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ED staff to develop and execute care plans
- Administer medications, start IVs, and manage acute interventions safely and efficiently
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses clearly and timely in the medical record
- Triage patients effectively to prioritize care for those in greatest need
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Support a culture of safety by following protocols, reporting concerns, and participating in quality improvement
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (ability to practice in Texas preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (experience in Emergency Department is a strong plus)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS and TNCC highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Current immunizations and credentialing completed prior to assignment start
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage principles and emergency assessment skills
- Acute care interventions, IV therapy, and medication administration
- Familiarity with ED workflows and critical thinking under pressure
- Effective patient and family education techniques
- Team collaboration, clear clinical documentation, and time management
