Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic exams in the OR, ED, inpatient units and at the bedside
- Operate radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment safely and according to protocol
- Evaluate images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to ensure diagnostic excellence
- Respond effectively to trauma activations and deliver timely imaging in fast-paced situations
- Float between departments as needed to support patient care and maintain smooth operations
- Precept and evaluate students, performing competency check-offs and mentoring future technologists
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and image management in Sectra
- Follow infection control, radiation safety, and department policies to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- ARRT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Graduate of a JRCERT/ARRT approved program
- Minimum 1 year experience at a Level 1 trauma center, or 2–3 years at a large bed Level 2 trauma facility
- Operating Room (OR) experience and comfort performing general X-ray and fluoroscopy
- Comfortable with portable X-ray and inpatient imaging; willingness to float between departments
- Willingness to learn pediatrics and neonates
- Experience with EPIC and Sectra a plus
Education
- Graduated from a JRCERT/ARRT approved program
Knowledge & Skills
- Radiography and fluoroscopy techniques with strong image quality evaluation skills
- Trauma imaging and rapid response in emergent situations
- Proficiency with GE, Philips and CareStream imaging equipment
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records and Sectra image systems
- Ability to perform portable X-rays and work across OR, ED and inpatient settings
- Student training, competency assessments and clear communication skills
