Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality telemetry nursing care for med/surg and telemetry patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and EKGs to identify changes in patient condition
• Administer medications safely and manage IVs, urinary catheters, and central lines
• Document care accurately in the EHR (Meditech) to ensure continuity and safety
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team—ED, physicians, and support staff—to coordinate patient care
• Manage patient assignments effectively, caring for up to 4-6 patients while maintaining safety and quality
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (required)
• Minimum 1 year acute med/surg/tele nursing experience within the last year (required)
• Ability to manage care for 4-6 patients as specified by the unit
• Experience with telemetry patients preferred; 2+ years telemetry experience (PCI, CABG POD 2) is a plus
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EHR for charting and communication

Education

• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation (EKG)
• Med/surg nursing fundamentals including medication administration
• IV insertion and central line maintenance
• Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, NGT and Continuous Bladder Irrigation care
• Strong clinical communication and teamwork skills
• Accurate EHR documentation and care coordination
