Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts (Night), exact start/end times vary by schedule; 36-hour guarantee. Scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application; limited RTO (no more than 5 days) and facility will not approve schedule changes after offer.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage patients efficiently and accurately to prioritize care for the most critical cases
- Provide trauma and emergency nursing care across all ages, including pediatric and psychiatric emergencies
- Stabilize patients for inpatient admission or arrange safe transfer to higher-level care when needed
- Perform focused assessments and document findings thoroughly in the medical record
- Collaborate closely with physicians, paramedics and the ED team to deliver coordinated care
- Operate and maintain emergency department equipment and decontamination supplies during hazardous incidents
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during stressful situations
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active New Hampshire RN license in-hand or Compact RN license (must be uploaded with profile)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience (at least 3 months) — required
- American Heart Association BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications (active and uploaded at submission)
- Rural or small-facility ED experience — required
- TNCC highly preferred
- Own vehicle and valid driver's license for commuting to this facility
- Ability to commit to schedule rules (submit RTO at time of application; facility will not approve after offer)
- May not reside within 50 miles of the facility (facility requirement)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and rapid assessment skills for medical, trauma, pediatric and psych patients
- Trauma care and stabilization techniques
- Pediatric emergency care knowledge and pediatric assessment skills
- Ability to manage psychiatric emergency presentations safely
- Experience with ED workflows, triage rooms, trauma bays and decontamination procedures
- Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced small-hospital environment
- Comfortable with documentation in electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Critical thinking, calm decision-making under pressure, and excellent situational awareness
