Shift Type: Rotating nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (Night shift); schedule includes every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for orthopedic surgery patients
- Perform post-operative assessments and manage pain and mobility needs
- Execute wound care, dressing changes and suture or staple removal with precision
- Manage Foley catheters and NG tubes safely and according to protocol
- Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner to support continuity
- Collaborate with surgeons, physical therapy and interdisciplinary team members to optimize recovery
- Use safe patient handling equipment and assistive devices to promote mobility and prevent injury
- Act as a team player on nights, supporting colleagues and adapting to a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Active NC Registered Nurse license (required)
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience, preferably with orthopedic or med-surg exposure
- BLS certification required
- Comfortable working night shifts and every other weekend schedule
- Experience with Cerner or similar EMR preferred
- Ability to provide compassionate, family-like care and work well in a team
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN, ADN or BSN) preferred
- Current RN licensure in North Carolina
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skills in orthopedic post-op nursing and med-surg principles
- Experience with wound VAC maintenance and removal
- Competence in Foley catheter and NG tube care
- Familiarity with dressing changes and suture/staple removal
- Comfort using Cerner for documentation and order entry
- Ability to manage multiple patients safely within stated patient ratios
- Knowledge of safe lift devices and mobility aids such as Sara Stedy, Maxi Move and Hoyer-type equipment
