Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Progressive Care Unit patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop timely care plans
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and monitor cardiac telemetry as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans with clarity and empathy
- Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record
- Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact RN license eligible
- Minimum 2+ years of clinical nursing experience (progressive care or med-surg experience preferred)
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable upon hire
- Demonstrated experience caring for telemetry or progressive care patients
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team-first attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of progressive care principles and cardiac monitoring
- Proficiency with intravenous medication administration and infusion pumps
- Skilled in patient assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking
- Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and handoff communication
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient-centered care
