Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care to progressive care unit patients
• Perform comprehensive assessments and interpret telemetry and hemodynamic data
• Administer medications and titrate therapies safely according to hospital policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Support unit throughput by coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state required for clinical practice
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (PCU/telemetry experience strongly preferred)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Proven experience with telemetry monitoring and care of medically complex patients
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Telemetry interpretation and monitoring
• IV therapy and medication administration best practices
• Patient assessment and early identification of clinical deterioration
• Electronic medical record documentation and charting accuracy
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Time management and prioritization in a busy PCU environment
