Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts — Day: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Night: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Variable days (must be available all shifts, weekends included). Assignment requires a mandatory start at 7:00 AM on a Monday for the placement.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in all levels of acuity
• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, manage IVs and treatments consistent with ED protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, the ICU and long-term care teams when patients need transfer or specialty care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
• Advocate for patients and their families while maintaining safety and clinical standards
• Adapt quickly to variable shifts and changing unit needs while maintaining professionalism

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in Hawaii or via Nurse Licensure Compact where applicable)
• Minimum two (2) years of Emergency Department nursing experience (mandatory)
• Comfortable floating to ICU and Long Term Care units as needed
• Able and willing to work variable shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends
• Current BLS required by facility (ensure you have required certifications ready)

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Acute care knowledge for rapid interventions and stabilizing patients
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-pressure situations
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks efficiently
• Proficient charting and documentation practices
• Flexibility to adapt to unit needs and cross-cover other departments
