Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; weekends rotating (every other weekend)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing to ICU patients, using evidence-based practice
- Administer and titrate complex medications including vasopressors with precision
- Continuously monitor hemodynamic and ventilatory status and respond to changes promptly
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech and maintain clear, timely records
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and care plans with compassion
- Adhere to unit policies, attendance guidelines, and the Methodist floating policy as needed
- Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges
Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses are not accepted)
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NIH training/requirements as listed by the facility (NIH REQUIRED)
- Minimum 2+ years of recent critical care/ICU experience
- Experience managing vasopressors and other high-acuity interventions
- Meditech experience preferred
- Reliable attendance and ability to work rotating weekends
Education
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required (Active Texas RN license; temp licenses not accepted)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment and clinical judgment
- Proficient with titration of vasoactive medications and advanced cardiac monitoring
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic documentation systems
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure environments
- Ability to prioritize, multitask and respond to rapidly changing situations
- Comfort with floating to different units when needed
