Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving care
- Provide skilled bedside nursing for acute and urgent cases in a fast-paced ED environment
- Collaborate with physicians, techs and other clinicians to deliver coordinated patient care
- Administer treatments, medications and interventions safely and document thoroughly
- Monitor patient status and respond decisively to changes and critical situations
- Educate patients and families with clear, compassionate communication during stressful moments
- Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, discharges and transfer planning
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with ED nursing experience
- Comfortable with 12-hour shift rotations and night shift practice (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- ENPC preferred
- Able to work nights, days, weekends and holidays as needed to cover open shifts
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency triage skills
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) preferred
- Current RN qualification as required by assignment
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency department assessment and triage best practices
- IV initiation, medication administration and acute care interventions
- Calm, decisive action in high-acuity and time-sensitive situations
- Clear, concise documentation and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams
- Patient and family education during high-stress encounters
- Flexibility and teamwork to help cover variable shift needs
