Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day shift); rotating weekend coverage required - must work 2 weekend shifts per month

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients across acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings with compassion and clinical excellence
- Perform and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) in radiology with confidence
- Provide one-on-one speech-language therapy and dysphagia management tailored to each patient
- Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, PT/OT, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate safe, effective care plans
- Document thoroughly and timely in the Meditech EMR to support continuity of care
- Participate in unit-based meetings, discharge planning, and family education to improve patient outcomes
- Support quality initiatives, adherence to unit policies, and a positive team culture
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years full-time experience in acute care hospital or LTAC settings, with strong MBSS experience (explicit requirement for SLP role)
- Experience in Level 1 trauma, neuroscience, ICU, burn, oncology, or ortho & spine settings is a strong plus
- Current state SLP license or ability to obtain licensure in Texas
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start
- Comfortable performing MBSS in radiology and managing complex dysphagia caseloads
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent graduate credential (typical requirement for SLP roles)
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in Modified Barium Swallow Studies and dysphagia management
- Acute care and inpatient rehabilitation clinical skills
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation and communication
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity units including ICUs and trauma floors
- Strong interdisciplinary communication, clinical decision-making, and patient education skills

This is a travel contract role in Plano, TX, a lively Dallas suburb with plenty to explore.
