Shift Type: Rotating night shifts (may include weekends), 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC — 12-hour night coverage for the 13-week travel assignment

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide advanced respiratory care for adult critical care and Level 3 NICU patients using evidence-based practices
- Manage and optimize mechanical ventilation settings, including initiation, titration and weaning
- Operate, troubleshoot and perform routine checks on PB 840 and Dräger ventilators
- Administer surfactant deliveries per protocol in neonatal patients when required
- Document all assessments and interventions accurately in the Meditech EMR
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to create and adjust individualized respiratory plans
- Monitor patient response via ABGs and clinical assessment and escalate concerns promptly
- Support unit goals, mentor colleagues and contribute to a positive, team-first culture
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience, including adult critical care and Level 3 NICU exposure
- Current state respiratory license (or eligibility to obtain) for Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
- Demonstrated experience with mechanical ventilation and neonatal surfactant delivery
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
- Team-oriented attitude and willingness to work occasional weekends and support unit needs
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program and RRT credentialing
Knowledge & Skills
- Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator troubleshooting
- Neonatal Level 3 NICU care and surfactant administration
- Adult critical care respiratory support
- Experience with PB 840 and Dräger ventilator platforms
- Proficient documentation skills in Meditech or similar EMR systems
- Arterial blood gas interpretation and respiratory assessment
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Adherence to infection control and unit policies
