Shift Type: Rotating nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; night-focused schedule with weekend coverage required (staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule); rare on-call

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care to adults on the K9A Oncology/Women's Surgical unit
- Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and intervene promptly to ensure safe outcomes
- Administer medications and collaborate on chemotherapy administration when appropriately certified
- Document care accurately and efficiently using Cerner to maintain clear communication across the care team
- Coordinate discharge planning and patient education to support recovery and continuity of care
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient ratios and staffing
- Respond to urgent situations and assist with procedures such as thoracentesis and echocardiogram monitoring as needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with oncology or med-surgical experience preferred
- Chemo Certification preferred and will make you a top candidate
- Comfortable using Cerner EMR for documentation and care coordination
- Ability to work night shifts and provide weekend coverage as scheduled
- Team-player attitude, willingness to learn, and strong communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Oncology nursing principles and safe chemotherapy handling
- Med-surgical nursing practices and patient care fundamentals
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record system
- IV therapy, medication administration, and patient assessment skills
- Ability to manage patient ratios around 1:4 or 1:5
- Familiarity with common unit procedures like thoracentesis and echo support
- Strong teamwork, time management, and patient education skills
