Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for Progressive Care Unit (PCU) patients
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor vital signs and telemetry, and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans to promote recovery
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record to ensure continuity and quality
• Prioritize patient safety, infection control and evidence-based practices on every shift

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in North Carolina or compact RN license)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience (PCU/telemetry or progressive care experience strongly preferred)
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients and excellent communication skills
• Ability to pass facility orientation and required credentialing for Mission Hospital

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with telemetry monitoring and progressive care patient populations
• Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy and post-procedure care
• Proficient with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize, triage and act quickly in fast-paced situations
• Team-oriented mindset with strong patient advocacy and bedside care skills
