Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify medication orders and perform accurate medication verification to keep patients safe
• Compound and oversee sterile IV preparations using Dose Edge to ensure compliance and quality
• Provide therapeutic dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulants
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, including Pyxis and Pak Edge management
• Manage first-dose and emergency medication boxes to support rapid clinical needs
• Document and communicate medication recommendations via Meditech EMR to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on pain consults and complex medication regimens
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts within the inpatient pharmacy

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Active Pharmacist license to practice in Missouri (MO) (required)
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience (inpatient experience preferred)
• Experience with sterile IV compounding and medication verification processes
• Familiarity with Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR
• Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians and support unit workflows
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred
• NICU experience is a plus

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations and workflows
• Proficiency in therapeutic dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulants
• Skilled in sterile compounding techniques and regulatory compliance
• Experience using Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR
• Attention to detail for medication verification and safety checks
• Clear communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary care teams
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced hospital environment
