Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, using therapeutic procedures and modalities
- Implement mobility training and range-of-motion exercises to improve patient function
- Assist patients with use of assistive devices and ensure safe mobility
- Apply pain management techniques and therapeutic modalities as directed
- Document patient progress, treatments, and responses accurately and timely
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
- Educate patients and family members on therapeutic exercises and safety strategies
- Adhere to the State Practice Act and facility policies to ensure safe, ethical practice
Qualifications
- Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program (required)
- Valid California license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) (required)
- Comfortable delivering direct patient care and working collaboratively with supervising PTs
- Strong communication skills and attention to documentation and patient safety
- Ability to work full-time day shifts as part of the clinical team
Education
- Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Therapeutic modalities and procedures
- Range of motion and mobility training techniques
- Pain management strategies
- Experience with assistive devices and safe patient handling
- Direct patient care skills and clinical documentation
- Understanding of State Practice Act and scope of practice for LPTAs
