Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess adult and pediatric patients to create individualized OT treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions focused on functional independence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, family members, and caregivers to optimize outcomes
- Document patient progress thoroughly and communicate changes in care plans promptly
- Provide patient and caregiver education to support home programs and safe discharge
- Adapt interventions to diverse settings across Livingston and Washtenaw Counties
Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapist license (state licensure required; Michigan licensure preferred)
- OTR/L or equivalent credentialing as required by the assignment
- Recent outpatient or home health OT experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between client homes or clinics
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in community settings
Education
- Entry-level: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Completion of required clinical fieldwork and national certification (NBCOT) as applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Familiarity with home safety evaluations and fall risk assessments
- Comfortable developing person-centered treatment plans and measurable goals
- Proficient documentation and electronic charting abilities
- Ability to build rapport quickly with diverse patient populations
