Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit
- Assess, monitor and respond to changes in patient condition with sound clinical judgment
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and update individualized care plans
- Document assessments, interventions and patient responses thoroughly in the medical record
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans and discharge instructions
- Prioritize workload effectively during overnight shifts to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in North Carolina)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience, with PCU or telemetry experience preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and other certifications encouraged
- Current clinical skills in patient assessment, telemetry monitoring and IV medication administration
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen and meet employer onboarding requirements
- Professional communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Acute/Progressive Care patient assessment and trending
- IV medication administration and titration
- Effective clinical documentation and electronic medical record use
- Strong prioritization, time management and critical thinking skills
- Clear communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
