Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit
• Assess, monitor and respond to changes in patient condition with sound clinical judgment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and update individualized care plans
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses thoroughly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans and discharge instructions
• Prioritize workload effectively during overnight shifts to ensure patient safety and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in North Carolina)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience, with PCU or telemetry experience preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and other certifications encouraged
• Current clinical skills in patient assessment, telemetry monitoring and IV medication administration
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen and meet employer onboarding requirements
• Professional communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Acute/Progressive Care patient assessment and trending
• IV medication administration and titration
• Effective clinical documentation and electronic medical record use
• Strong prioritization, time management and critical thinking skills
• Clear communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
