Roles & Responsibilities
- Direct pharmacy operations across assigned sites, ensuring safe, efficient medication use
- Partner with system pharmacy leadership to analyze problems, develop solutions, and plan budgets
- Lead development and implementation of policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs
- Serve on key committees (Medication Safety, P&T, Information Systems) to drive system initiatives
- Manage human resources duties: hiring, performance evaluation, development, and morale
- Oversee inventory control, pharmacy information systems, and departmental productivity targets
- Coach and mentor pharmacy staff to elevate practice standards and patient outcomes
- Stand ready to perform pharmacy manager duties and respond to operational needs as required
Qualifications
- PharmD degree from an accredited college or university
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration or equivalent experience
- Licensed Pharmacist in Wisconsin (current and valid)
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience
- Proven experience with pharmacy operations management, QA, policy development, and budgeting
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
- Comfort with committees and cross-functional initiatives related to patient safety and information systems
Education
- PharmD
- ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration or equivalent experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Leadership and people management with emphasis on coaching and development
- Human resources management, performance evaluation, and staff engagement
- Pharmacy operations management including inventory control and workflow optimization
- Quality assurance, policy & procedure development, and regulatory compliance
- Patient medication safety principles and committee-based safety programs
- Pharmacy information systems and charge/inventory system familiarity
- Strategic planning, budgeting, and performance metric oversight
- Excellent communication and relationship-building with clinical and administrative partners
