Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered perioperative nursing care using the nursing process to achieve excellent outcomes
• Actively circulate in the operating room across specialties (GYN, ENT, Urology, Ortho, General, Vascular)
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Provide compassionate physical and psychological support to patients and families before, during, and after surgery
• Accurately document care and perioperative events in the MediTech EMR
• Maintain infection control, safety standards, and professional nursing practice at all times
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and professional development activities

Qualifications

• Active Arkansas RN license (Nursys verification required; compact allowed) — must be active
• Minimum 2+ years of operating room experience (required)
• Proven ability to circulate across GYN, ENT, Urology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, and Vascular cases
• MediTech EMR experience (required)
• Experience caring for pediatric through geriatric populations (required)
• Current American Heart Association BLS (required); ACLS and PALS per certification requirements
• Current skills checklist for Operating Room (within 1 year) and 2 supervisory references taken within the last 2 years
• Candidate must provide permanent address; applicants within 90 miles of Batesville will not be reviewed

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing best practices and circulating techniques
• Proficiency with MediTech EMR documentation
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Comfort managing patients across the lifespan (pediatric to geriatric)
• Familiarity with sterile technique, instrument handling, and OR flow
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-pressure environments
• Adherence to AHA BLS/ACLS/PALS protocols and state licensing regulations
