Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare medications accurately and safely for patients
• Receive and verify prescriptions, ensuring proper documentation and pharmacist approval
• Price, fill, and dispense prescriptions while maintaining attention to detail
• Assist patients with paperwork related to their prescriptions, providing helpful guidance
• Support insurance claims processing online and collaborate with pharmacists to resolve issues
• Stock, price, and manage medication inventory to ensure availability
• Deliver medications to patients or facilities when needed to support continuity of care
• Adhere to infection-control procedures, policies, and regulations to keep patients and staff safe

Qualifications

• National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (required) — documentation required at submission
• Michigan Pharmacy License at time of submission (required)
• Certified Pharmacy Technician designation or equivalent (required)
• Epic experience (required) — comfortable using electronic health record systems
• BLS preferred
• Past retail pharmacy experience preferred
• Willingness to work the posted schedule including alternating weekends and holiday rotations

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of pharmacy technician training or program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication preparation and safe handling
• Prescription verification and filling workflows
• Pricing prescriptions and basic inventory control
• Insurance claims processing and familiarity with online adjudication
• Infection control best practices in a clinical setting
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork
