Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound exams with accuracy and compassion
- Capture high-quality images and Doppler studies to support clear clinical decisions
- Document findings and maintain accurate patient records in the imaging system
- Follow vascular imaging protocols and adjust technique based on clinical presentation
- Communicate results and clinical concerns promptly to the care team
- Ensure patient comfort, safety and dignity during exams
- Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment and escalate issues when needed
- Collaborate with physicians, technologists and support staff to improve patient outcomes
Qualifications
- ARDMS certification required
- Proven competency in vascular sonography and Doppler techniques
- Comfortable with the rotating day schedule including occasional weekends
- Strong patient communication skills and professional bedside manner
- Current state licensure if applicable, and ability to meet credentialing requirements
Education
- Formal training in diagnostic medical sonography; Associate degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathophysiology
- Skill with arterial and venous duplex protocols and Doppler waveform analysis
- Proficiency operating vascular ultrasound systems and transducers
- Familiarity with PACS, DICOM standards and electronic medical records
- Attention to detail, time management and the ability to prioritize urgent studies
- Infection control practices and patient safety procedures
