Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality adult echocardiography studies including 2D imaging and Doppler (CW & PW) to support accurate cardiac diagnoses
• Conduct comprehensive valvular disease assessments, color flow mapping, cardiomyopathy evaluations, congenital heart disease exams, and pericardial/effusion studies
• Execute 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) procedures with attention to patient safety and image quality
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment (Canon i700 and i900) and ensure study documentation is complete and accurate
• Document procedures and findings in the EMR (Epic go-live referenced) and collaborate with the care team to communicate critical results
• Provide compassionate patient care and clear explanations of procedures to patients and families
• Float to other departments and provide call coverage as needed to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• RDCS required (ARDMS or CCI accepted)
• Active AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years experience in an acute hospital echocardiography setting
• Competent to proficient in adult echo modalities: 2D-Mode, Doppler CW & PW, TEE (2D & 3D), valvular studies, color flow mapping, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease, pericardial disease and effusion studies
• Pediatric echocardiography experience is a plus but not required
• Comfortable floating to other departments and covering on-call shifts
• Familiarity with Epic EMR is beneficial (system change noted)

Knowledge & Skills

• Adult echocardiography: 2D, Doppler CW & PW
• Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) 2D and 3D
• Valvular disease evaluation, color flow mapping, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart abnormalities, pericardial disease/effusion assessment
• Hands-on experience with Canon i700 and i900 imaging platforms
• Acute hospital workflows and urgent/critical care coordination
• Accurate clinical documentation and EMR familiarity (Epic)
• Strong patient communication, teamwork, and adaptability for floating and call coverage
