Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care across Med-Surg and ED settings
• Perform thorough patient assessments and initiate appropriate interventions
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Triage and respond to emergencies with calm, decisive action
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective care
• Float between units as needed, adapting quickly to changing patient needs
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Support unit throughput by assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain Hawaii licensure
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced certifications (ACLS) preferred
• Clinical experience in Med-Surg and Emergency Department or float pool experience
• Strong EPIC experience — this is required for the role
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in small teams

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (required)
• Solid assessment and triage skills across Med-Surg and ED patients
• Medication administration, IV therapy, and basic emergency interventions
• Ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations and adapt when floating
• Strong documentation, time management, and patient education abilities
• Cultural sensitivity and community-focused care approach for rural settings
