Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to keep residents comfortable and dignified
• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and mobility while following safe patient handling practices
• Take and record vital signs and report any concerning changes promptly to the nursing team
• Support residents with feeding and hydration, observing intake and reporting concerns
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care in the resident chart or electronic medical record
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment for residents
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure resident-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Active or eligible to hold Pennsylvania CNA credential
• Previous CNA or direct patient care experience preferred but new grads with a solid clinical background are welcome
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) and safe resident transfers
• Basic assessment skills, including taking and documenting vital signs
• Knowledge of infection prevention, hand hygiene, and PPE use
• Comfortable with charting and basic electronic medical record (EMR) entries
• Good interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow care plans and nursing direction

When you're off shift, explore Gettysburg National Military Park and Visitor Center, walk the battlefield and national cemetery, and dive into local history at the museums.
