Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and communicate changes to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with safe patient transfers and positioning while following facility protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation and support care plans with attention to detail
- Practice infection control and safety measures to protect patients and coworkers
- Build trusting relationships with patients and families, offering dignity and emotional support
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Active CNA registry or state authorization to practice in North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Reliable, punctual and able to work on your feet for your shift
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic patient care and ADLs
- Familiarity with vital signs, charting and documentation best practices
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns to nursing staff
- Empathy, patience and strong interpersonal skills
