Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and assist with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and changes in patient condition
• Assist with safe transfers, positioning, and mobility to promote independence
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient chart
• Work closely with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to protect patients and staff
• Support patients and families with respectful communication and emotional support

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (or state equivalency) — must be eligible to work in PA
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Previous experience as a CNA or in direct patient care is highly valued
• Comfort and ability to work the night shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited CNA program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in providing personal care, bathing, feeding, and toileting assistance
• Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and basic clinical observations
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting practices
• Knowledge of infection prevention, patient safety, and standard precautions
• Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm in emergencies and escalate concerns appropriately
