Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the main OR
• Prepare the operating room and sterile field, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to optimize outcomes
• Monitor patients during perioperative phases and communicate changes promptly
• Assist with patient positioning, counting instruments, and maintaining aseptic technique
• Float to outpatient surgery when needed to support smooth patient flow
• Participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives to improve care

Qualifications

• Current California RN license required
• BLS/CPR recognition required
• ACLS recognition required
• PALS recognition required
• At least 2 years of perioperative nursing experience required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Experience working in a Level II trauma facility or similar environment preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative and operating room skills, including sterile technique
• Familiarity with outpatient surgery workflows and OR instrumentation
• Ability to respond in trauma situations and work effectively in a Level II trauma setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity environments
• Basic competence with electronic medical records and perioperative documentation
• Focus on patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement
