Roles & Responsibilities

• Set up procedure rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for complex GI cases
• Assist nursing staff and physicians throughout endoscopic procedures, including polypectomies, biopsies, ERCPs and dilations
• Disinfect, process and reprocess endoscopic equipment to strict infection-control standards
• Troubleshoot and maintain endoscopy equipment so cases run smoothly and safely
• Apply and monitor EKG leads, BP cuffs and pulse oximetry prior to and during procedures
• Transport and assist patients with ambulation and dressing before and after procedures with empathy and professionalism
• Stock rooms, manage supplies, and help maintain efficient workflow for the department
• Document procedures and follow safety protocols to support high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• Registered with Colorado DORA as a CST (required)
• Minimum 2 years of endoscopy/GI tech experience with advanced case experience (required)
• BLS through the American Heart Association (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Flu vaccination (required)
• SGNA Associates or Advanced Associates program (highly preferred)
• IAHCSMM Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) (highly preferred)
• Comfort with rotating on-call schedule and ability to support high-acuity/complex cases

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Endoscope reprocessing and sterile processing best practices
• Equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting for GI procedures
• Patient monitoring: EKG, blood pressure, pulse oximetry
• Assisting with polypectomy, biopsies, ERCP and dilation procedures
• Strong infection control and documentation practices
• Efficient room turnover and supply management
• Clear communication with physicians, nursing staff, and patients
