Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts (Days 5x8s). Rotating weekday call after 4:30 PM, rotating weekends, and rotating holiday on-call. Staff may float to Mercy Downtown as needed. Exact daily start/end times vary by unit.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality nuclear medicine studies including cardiac, SPECT, bone scans, bleed studies, and gastric emptying
- Operate and maintain GE nuclear medicine equipment and associated imaging systems
- Accurately document procedures and patient information in Cerner and archive images in Radnet / Merge Unity
- Coordinate with on-site radiologists and the lead technologist to ensure timely, safe patient care
- Float to nearby Mercy Downtown when needed to provide coverage and continuity of services
- Participate in rotating call and weekend coverage to support 24/7 imaging needs
- Follow safety protocols and maintain required certifications to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) via NMTCB — required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC) — required
- At least 2 years of nuclear medicine technologist experience
- Comfortable performing cardiac imaging, SPECT, bone scans, bleed studies, and gastric emptying studies
- Experience with PACS and EMR systems, specifically Radnet, Merge Unity, and Cerner
- Able to float to Mercy Downtown (approximately 6.5 miles) and participate in rotating call and weekend coverage
- No IV starts required for this role
Education
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) via NMTCB required
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures and imaging protocols
- Proficiency with SPECT imaging and interpretation workflow
- Hands-on experience with GE imaging equipment
- Familiarity with PACS systems (Radnet, Merge Unity) and Cerner charting
- Strong patient-care and communication skills
- Detail-oriented approach to image acquisition, labeling, and documentation
- Ability to multitask in an acute care environment and collaborate with radiologists
