Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days & nights): 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; primarily night-focused coverage available. Schedule includes every other weekend and every third holiday; no on-call/standby required.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based bedside care to adult and geriatric PCU patients
- Titrate and manage drips safely (e.g., Cardizem, beta blockers, seizure meds) per unit protocols
- Perform continuous EEG monitoring oversight and respond to changes in patient status
- Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear, timely patient records
- Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize care
- Assess patients, prioritize critical interventions, and apply strong clinical judgment
- Provide patient and family education for cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes care needs
- Support unit flow and patient safety while floating to ICU, rehab, or medical floors as needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Nebraska (current and in good standing)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (current upon submission/assignment)
- Minimum 2 years of PCU/stepdown or acute care nursing experience
- Proven experience titrating drips and managing complex cardiac/neuro patients
- Proficient with EPIC charting and electronic documentation
- Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to confirm 50-mile radius eligibility)
- Ability to pass orientation skills exam (open-book) with a required score of 90%
- Must NOT be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit facility (including CHI or Dignity) per radius rules
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required for submission
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills in a fast-paced PCU/Stepdown setting
- Excellent communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary providers
- Knowledge of cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes patient management
- Hands-on experience with titratable drips and set-rate infusions
- Familiarity with continuous EEG monitoring principles
- Time management, prioritization, and delegation when supervising patient care techs
