Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents—assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Measure and record vital signs and intake/output accurately and promptly report changes.
- Assist licensed nursing staff with clinical tasks and follow individualized care plans.
- Document care activities clearly and thoroughly in the medical record.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment; follow infection control protocols.
- Communicate with residents and families with empathy and professionalism.
- Participate in team huddles and contribute to quality improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (or state equivalent); eligible to work in North Carolina.
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Previous experience as a CNA preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of state-approved CNA program required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Skill in providing activities of daily living (ADL) assistance and basic patient care.
- Proficiency measuring and documenting vital signs and clinical observations.
- Familiarity with basic charting and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Understanding of infection control, safety practices, and resident rights.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a resident-centered approach.
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
