Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents—assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Measure and record vital signs and intake/output accurately and promptly report changes.
• Assist licensed nursing staff with clinical tasks and follow individualized care plans.
• Document care activities clearly and thoroughly in the medical record.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment; follow infection control protocols.
• Communicate with residents and families with empathy and professionalism.
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (or state equivalent); eligible to work in North Carolina.
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Previous experience as a CNA preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of state-approved CNA program required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Skill in providing activities of daily living (ADL) assistance and basic patient care.
• Proficiency measuring and documenting vital signs and clinical observations.
• Familiarity with basic charting and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Understanding of infection control, safety practices, and resident rights.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a resident-centered approach.
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
