Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the nursing team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to residents
• Oversee clinical operations, ensuring staffing, documentation and standards of care are met
• Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams
• Ensure regulatory compliance and prepare for surveys and audits with confidence
• Coach, mentor and evaluate nursing staff to foster professional growth and strong performance
• Drive quality improvement initiatives that improve resident outcomes and operational efficiency
• Communicate effectively with families, providers and facility leadership to advocate for residents

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in Rhode Island or eligibility under the nurse licensure compact
• Previous leadership experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred
• Experience overseeing clinical staff, scheduling and quality/compliance programs
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications preferred
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with a resident-first mindset

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with substantial leadership experience considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of long-term care regulations, survey readiness and clinical best practices
• Skill in staff development, conflict resolution and performance management
• Clinical assessment skills and the ability to translate clinical data into action plans
• Proficiency with clinical documentation systems and electronic health records
• Ability to lead quality improvement projects and monitor key performance indicators
