Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to residents, prioritizing dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
• Support safe resident mobility and transfers using proper techniques
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow care plans
• Adhere to infection control standards and facility policies to keep everyone safe
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and the care team

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
• Active CNA license for Pennsylvania (or eligible to obtain state certification)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required depending on facility policy
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and working independently on night shifts
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• State CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care: transfers, ADLs, bathing, feeding, toileting
• Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
• Familiarity with resident safety, fall prevention, and infection control
• Basic charting and clear documentation practices
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate situations
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to licensed nursing staff
