Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the CCU, prioritizing safety and clinical excellence
• Monitor and interpret patient data using Cerner and bedside monitoring systems to detect changes quickly
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy with precise medication calculations and manual dexterity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and follow individualized care plans
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families, explaining complex care in understandable terms
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR and uphold unit policies and protocols
• Apply selective attention and information-ordering skills to manage multiple complex tasks during shifts
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respectful care for a diverse patient population

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required upon submission
• ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of current CCU (Critical Care) experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Prior Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Strong medication calculation skills and IV management experience
• Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to work holiday rotations and adapt to rotating day/night schedules

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care principles and CCU workflow
• EMR usage (Cerner) and timely electronic documentation
• IV management, medication administration, and medication calculation
• ACLS and BLS protocols and emergency response
• Selective attention, information ordering, deductive and inductive reasoning
• Manual dexterity for bedside procedures and equipment handling
• Cultural sensitivity and effective patient/family communication
