Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based evaluations
• Develop individualized treatment plans that set meaningful goals
• Provide skilled therapy for speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to support continuity of care
• Accurately document progress and recommendations in the medical record
• Educate patients and caregivers to maximize carryover and functional outcomes

Qualifications

• Valid California license or eligibility to obtain state licensure as an SLP
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
• Current CPR/Basic Life Support certification (if required by facility)
• Comfort working in a rehabilitation/contract facility setting and collaborating with a care team
• Ability to pass required background and health screenings

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and treatment skills across speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Familiarity with dysphagia management and safe swallow strategies
• Experience with common evaluation tools and treatment approaches
• Solid clinical documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate care
• Ability to prioritize caseload and adapt plans to patient goals
