Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based evaluation tools
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that make measurable progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
- Document clinical findings, progress notes, and discharge summaries clearly and timely
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support carry-over of skills
- Advocate for patients’ needs and support a positive, empowering rehab environment
Qualifications
- Active Maryland SLP license (or compact/state eligibility) required
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or equivalent clinical certification
- Experience treating a variety of adult and/or pediatric communication and swallowing disorders
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and team collaboration
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in speech, language, cognition, and swallowing evaluation and treatment
- Skilled in individualized therapy planning and outcome-driven care
- Strong interpersonal and family education skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and timely documentation practices
- Ability to triage caseload, prioritize tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced setting
- Comfortable collaborating with PT/OT, nursing, and rehab teams to optimize outcomes
