Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based evaluation tools
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that make measurable progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document clinical findings, progress notes, and discharge summaries clearly and timely
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support carry-over of skills
• Advocate for patients’ needs and support a positive, empowering rehab environment

Qualifications

• Active Maryland SLP license (or compact/state eligibility) required
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or equivalent clinical certification
• Experience treating a variety of adult and/or pediatric communication and swallowing disorders
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
• Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and team collaboration

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in speech, language, cognition, and swallowing evaluation and treatment
• Skilled in individualized therapy planning and outcome-driven care
• Strong interpersonal and family education skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and timely documentation practices
• Ability to triage caseload, prioritize tasks, and work independently in a fast-paced setting
• Comfortable collaborating with PT/OT, nursing, and rehab teams to optimize outcomes
