Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in line with LPN scope of practice
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while documenting per facility policy
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor vital signs, reporting changes to the care team
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to support individualized care plans
• Maintain clear, timely charting in the electronic health record and during handoffs
• Support wound care, ADLs, and resident comfort with dignity and respect
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge planning to keep care transitions smooth

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (able to practice in New Mexico or obtain state licensure)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Comfortable with long day shifts and weekend schedule (Sunday, Friday, Saturday)
• Strong communication skills, dependable, and a team-focused attitude
• Preferred: prior experience in long-term care or similar inpatient settings and travel nursing experience

Education

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN/LVN) program
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medication administration and nursing calculations
• Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs, and basic wound care
• Proficient with documentation and basic electronic health record systems
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Good clinical judgment, time management, and ability to prioritize under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
