Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on nursing care to residents based on individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document responses
- Monitor patient status, report changes promptly, and collaborate with the care team
- Support activities of daily living and encourage resident independence
- Communicate with families and interdisciplinary staff with professionalism and empathy
- Maintain accurate, timely charting and uphold facility policies and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in Maine or compact/state license eligible for Maine
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS a plus depending on unit
- Comfortable with medication administration and nursing documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well on a travel care team
- Prior experience in long-term care, med-surg, or similar settings preferred but new grads with clinical strength encouraged to apply
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN diploma or certificate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Wound care basics and monitoring for changes in condition
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and charting
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to patient needs
