Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care within the LPN scope, making each patient feel seen and safe
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document according to facility policies
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient status changes, and communicate concerns promptly
- Assist with activities of daily living, promoting dignity and independence
- Collaborate with RNs and the interdisciplinary team to implement and update care plans
- Perform routine wound care and basic procedures as appropriate
- Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records and documentation
- Support a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in Maine, or eligibility for state licensure/compact privileges
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program or equivalent practical nursing education
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug screens, and immunization requirements
- Previous experience in long-term care, med-surg, or similar settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Diploma or certificate from an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation
- Basic wound care and dressing changes
- Patient assessment and recognition of changes in condition
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and charting
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and staff
- Adherence to infection control and safety best practices
- Collaboration within interdisciplinary care teams
