Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered vascular nursing care for adults and older adults
- Perform vascular assessments, monitor patient status, and communicate changes to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders and protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, vascular techs, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care plans
- Educate patients and families on vascular conditions, procedures, post-procedure care, and discharge instructions
- Document care thoroughly in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity and quality
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license in North Carolina or compact RN license where applicable
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; vascular medicine experience strongly preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working extended day shifts and managing a full patient assignment
- Ability to pass background and health screenings and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented, patient-first mindset
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical knowledge of vascular disease, wound care, and post-procedural monitoring
- Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and patient assessment
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
- Skills in patient and family education tailored to vascular health and recovery
- Ability to prioritize, triage, and escalate concerns in a fast-paced environment
- Team collaboration, time management, and critical thinking under pressure
