Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage complex cardiovascular critical care patients with confidence and compassion
• Titrate vesicant medications and vasopressors while closely monitoring hemodynamics
• Perform advanced airway and ventilator management, including tracheostomy care
• Interpret telemetry and PA catheter data to guide timely clinical decisions
• Assist with and manage procedures such as transvenous pacing, cardioversion, chest tube care, and assist with TEE
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute safe, individualized care plans
• Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate clear handoffs at shift change
• Support unit readiness by floating to areas as needed and contributing to a strong patient experience

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in North Carolina)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU / CICU experience
• Comfort and prior experience with ventilators, telemetry, hemodynamic monitoring and PA catheter setup/interpretation
• Experience with titration of vesicant meds, pressors, sedation and paralytics
• CCRN certification recommended but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and tracheostomy care
• Telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm management
• Hemodynamic monitoring, PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Titration of vesicant medications and vasopressor management
• Experience with IABP, Impella and CRRT is a plus
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic documentation and Baxter IV pumps
• Skilled in chest tube care, central line procedures support, cardioversion and basic TEE assistance
• Strong critical thinking, situational awareness and teamwork in high-acuity settings
