Roles & Responsibilities
- Interpret screening and diagnostic mammograms with accuracy and timeliness
- Perform and supervise image-guided breast biopsies and diagnostic procedures
- Provide clear, patient-centered diagnostic reports using EPIC and PowerScribe
- Collaborate with breast surgeons, oncologists, and multidisciplinary teams to guide care
- Contribute to quality assurance, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement in a busy department
- Support remote reading workflows as needed and maintain excellent communication with on-site staff
- Ensure thorough documentation and timely follow-up for patients requiring additional care
Qualifications
- Physician (MD or DO) with credentials for radiology practice
- Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology preferred
- Demonstrated experience in mammography and breast imaging
- Proven ability to perform image-guided breast biopsies
- Proficiency with PACS, EPIC, and PowerScribe documented in your experience
- Locum tenens experience or comfort with contract/temporary assignments is a plus
- Willingness to complete credentialing (estimated timeframe 90-120 days once applications are submitted)
Education
- MD or DO (physician degree required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Mammography interpretation and diagnostic radiology expertise
- Image-guided biopsy techniques and breast biopsy workflow
- Familiarity with PACS, EPIC electronic medical records, and PowerScribe reporting
- Experience with breast imaging subspecialty workflows and high-volume practice
- Ability to perform remote reading/tele-radiology when needed
- Comfort with trauma imaging cases as encountered in a level I trauma center
