Roles & Responsibilities

• Interpret screening and diagnostic mammograms with accuracy and timeliness
• Perform and supervise image-guided breast biopsies and diagnostic procedures
• Provide clear, patient-centered diagnostic reports using EPIC and PowerScribe
• Collaborate with breast surgeons, oncologists, and multidisciplinary teams to guide care
• Contribute to quality assurance, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement in a busy department
• Support remote reading workflows as needed and maintain excellent communication with on-site staff
• Ensure thorough documentation and timely follow-up for patients requiring additional care

Qualifications

• Physician (MD or DO) with credentials for radiology practice
• Board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology preferred
• Demonstrated experience in mammography and breast imaging
• Proven ability to perform image-guided breast biopsies
• Proficiency with PACS, EPIC, and PowerScribe documented in your experience
• Locum tenens experience or comfort with contract/temporary assignments is a plus
• Willingness to complete credentialing (estimated timeframe 90-120 days once applications are submitted)

Education

• MD or DO (physician degree required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Mammography interpretation and diagnostic radiology expertise
• Image-guided biopsy techniques and breast biopsy workflow
• Familiarity with PACS, EPIC electronic medical records, and PowerScribe reporting
• Experience with breast imaging subspecialty workflows and high-volume practice
• Ability to perform remote reading/tele-radiology when needed
• Comfort with trauma imaging cases as encountered in a level I trauma center
