Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to med/surg and telemetry patients, prioritizing safety and dignity
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and respond quickly to rhythm changes and alarms
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly in the electronic medical record
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop appropriate nursing interventions and care plans
• Coordinate care with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and families to achieve optimal outcomes
• Lead and participate in unit-based competency testing and skills validation to maintain high standards
• Act as an advocate for patient education, discharge planning, and smooth transitions of care
• Respond to emergency situations using BLS/ACLS protocols when necessary

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state licensure and License/Certificate Verification required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Telemetry experience required; med/surg experience strongly preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist required
• Meet health screening requirements: immunizations, fit test, respirator evaluation, drug screen, and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
• Strong med/surg clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Accurate medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Effective communication and teamwork across interdisciplinary teams
• Competency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
• Ability to respond calmly in emergencies and follow established protocols
