Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care across assigned shifts
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor patients closely using NIHSS and other neuro tools when indicated
• Deliver timely, accurate medication administration and documentation
• Manage trauma and emergency situations with TNCC-based protocols and quick clinical decision-making
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
• Complete required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards of care
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and communicate changes in patient condition to providers

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid for practice in Iowa) — license verification required
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS required as listed
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required or current
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Up-to-date immunizations and required health screening: COVID-19 vaccine, Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, Influenza, 2-step PPD or IGRA, fit test, and 10-panel drug screen
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a team-first approach

Education

• Active RN license in Iowa (required)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of ACLS and PALS protocols and BLS fundamentals
• Skilled in neuro assessments (NIHSS) and trauma assessment (TNCC)
• Proficient in IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring vital signs
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems and completing thorough documentation
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to perform under pressure with strong critical thinking and prioritization
