Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients on admission and throughout their stay using the nursing process
• Administer IV therapy, medications, and blood products safely and accurately
• Provide timely patient education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Document nursing care, observations, teaching, and patient responses clearly and completely
• Collaborate with the emergency team to triage and manage acute presentations
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating concerns as needed
• Support the Chest Pain Center protocols and emergency workflows when applicable
• Maintain required certifications and adhere to facility policies and standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year previous RN experience required
• At least 1 year previous critical care or emergency nursing experience required
• Must not be a previous employee of St. Mary’s (per client requirement)
• Clean license and background checks required; travelers with license/background actions will not be accepted
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced emergency setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Emergency Nursing and critical care fundamentals
• Proficient in patient assessment and nursing process
• IV therapy, medication administration, and blood transfusion experience
• Excellent documentation and charting skills
• Ability to educate patients and families effectively
• Familiarity with Chest Pain Center workflows is a plus
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
