Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside critical care for medically complex and post-operative cardiac patients
• Manage ventilators and perform advanced ventilator care and troubleshooting
• Continuously assess and monitor hemodynamics and titrate therapies safely
• Deliver post-CABG and cardiac transplant care with precision and compassion
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team including intensivists, respiratory therapists and perfusionists
• Document accurate, timely patient updates and conduct bedside shift reports
• Prioritize patient safety, infection control and high-acuity interventions in a fast-paced ICU

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU/critical care experience (CVICU experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proven experience with ventilated patients and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with post-CABG care; ECMO and heart transplant exposure is a strong plus
• Comfortable working in high-acuity units and floating to other critical care areas as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills in the ICU environment
• Hands-on ventilator management and ventilator weaning knowledge
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive drips
• Experience with Meditech documentation system preferred
• Excellent communication and bedside reporting skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary cardiac care team
