Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' clinical status, including continuous telemetry monitoring
• Provide high-quality post-operative orthopedic nursing care and pain management
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Document patient care thoroughly in Meditech and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, therapists and support staff for coordinated care
• Float between inpatient Med/Tele and Rehab units as needed with flexibility and professionalism
• Educate patients and families about care plans, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
• Support unit practices and policies to maintain a safe, compassionate environment

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (required)
• Minimum 2 years strong telemetry experience (explicit requirement)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (must-have)
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Chemo Certification is a nice-to-have (could lead to Oncology scheduling opportunities)
• Willingness to float, team-player attitude, and compassionate bedside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry/cardiac monitoring and interpretation
• Orthopedic post-operative care and mobility support
• Meditech EMR documentation and workflow
• ACLS/BLS emergency response and protocols
• Ability to manage patient ratios typical for med/tele units
• Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced hospital setting
