Shift Type: Varies (rotating nights), 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM NOC; schedule must meet department needs and includes every-other-weekend coverage

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse, high-volume patient population
- Stabilize and manage acute and critical conditions in a busy Level 2 trauma / comprehensive stroke center
- Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, unit clerks and the interdisciplinary ED team to ensure smooth patient flow
- Coach, mentor and give real-time feedback to colleagues to support team performance and patient safety
- Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner to maintain continuity and compliance
- Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Implement AIDET and patient-experience best practices to keep patients informed and respected throughout their visit
- Adhere to unit policies, attendance expectations and dress code (navy scrubs) while promoting a welcoming department culture
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state-specific) required
- Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
- Current ACLS and BLS required before start date; PALS and TNCC required before start date
- CPI and NIHSS required prior to hire; ENPC within 90 days of hire
- Teamwork mentality with demonstrated ability to coach and give feedback in real time
- Willingness to float among ED sections and work schedules that meet department needs
- Comfort working with diverse patient populations and multilingual communities
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient use of Cerner documentation system
- Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitoring systems
- Triage and cardiac monitoring experience in a busy ED
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency intervention skills
- Stroke assessment knowledge including NIHSS
- Trauma care fundamentals (ED-focused, Level 2 experience preferred)
- Excellent communication, cultural sensitivity, and patient-experience focus (AIDET)
- Ability to mentor peers and provide constructive feedback on the floor
