Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room for surgical patients
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure smooth procedures
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation standards to protect patient safety
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings clearly to the team
• Accurately document perioperative care, surgical counts, and patient progress
• Participate in on-call rotations for night and weekend coverage when scheduled
• Support continuous improvement efforts by sharing observations and best practices with colleagues

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and participating in night/weekend on-call rotations
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in fast-paced surgical settings
• Willing and available to work a travel contract assignment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing practices and sterile technique
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and OR workflow
• Patient assessment and perioperative clinical decision-making
• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond in high-acuity situations
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and surgical teams
